Scouting was founded by Lord Baden Powell. 1910 is generally considered the year Scouting began although Baden Powell had been working with boys for years. Cub Scouts came to the United States in 1930.
In Scouts, we say the Cub Scout Promise: I, (name), promise to do my best, To do my duty, To God and my country, To help other people and To obey the Law of the Pack.
We try to do our best at all times -- that’s our motto!
1st grade boys are Tigers
2nd grade boys are Wolves
3rd grade boys are Bears
4th grade boys are Webelos
5th grade boys are Arrow of Light scouts
Boys transition to Boy Scouts in March of 5th grade.
